The cost of the human kidney
Mufti Mohammad Taqi Usmani says that there is
a kidney specialist in Karachi. My sibling once asked him that you eliminate a
kidney from one individual's body and relocate it to someone else, however
presently science has progressed a ton. So why not make an artificial kidney,
so that there is no need to use another person's kidney?
He laughed and replied, "First of all, in
spite of this progress in science, it is very difficult to make an artificial
kidney, because the sieve that Allah Almighty has put inside the kidney is so
delicate and thin that no such machine has been invented yet." What could
make such a delicate and thin sieve. Even if such a machine were invented and
such a sieve was made, billions of rupees would be spent on it, and even if
such a sieve was made by spending billions of rupees, there is still something
inside the kidney that is beyond our power. Yes, the thing is that Allah
Almighty has created a brain inside the kidney which decides how much water the
human body needs, how much water to keep in the body and how much water to
throw out. Each person's kidney decides how much water should be in his body
and how much should be expelled according to his condition, his body and his
weight. And that's 100 percent true. As a result, it retains as much water as
it needs and expels excess water in the form of urine. Therefore, even if we
spend billions of rupees to make an artificial kidney, we still cannot make the
brain that Allah Almighty has created in the kidney of every human being.
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?
